Iroquois Falls Power Corp. (Co-Generation Plant) - 705-232-4656

The Cogeneration Plant generates power by burning clean natural gas in the gas turbines. The gas turbines coupled to generators make 80MW of electricity and the energy is put on the Hydro One grid. The heat generated from the gas turbines is recovered using the heat Recovery system Generators (HRSG). The heat is used in the boilers to make high pressure steam. The high pressure steam is sent to the steam turbine and the energy (20MW) is put on the Hydro One grid. The intermediate pressure steam is sent to Abitibi Consolidated Inc. This describes the process of generating power. Come and see this process in action - join our tour!
